A Pak-China joint air exercise is in full swing at China’s Korla Air Base, Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) media department said on Thursday.
The contingents from both sides participating in the Shaheen-VI exercise consist of combat pilots, air defence controllers and technical ground crew, PAF said.
According to the related press release, PAF is showcasing the JF-17 Thunder, Mirage, F-7PG and ZDK aircraft in the exercise.
The People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) have brought their J-8, J-11, JH-7 and the KJ-200 Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft to the exercise.
The exercise will strengthen the working relationship between the two airforces and help them advance each other’s learning, PAF said.
According to the Pakistan airforce, Shaheen-VI is the sixth in a series of joint air exercises with PLAAF, which alternate between the two countries each year.
The PAF has put special emphasis on the combat training of its air and ground crew and regularly undertakes air exercises with the forces of friendly countries, the release said.
