ISLAMABAD: Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu was given a one-year extension by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday.
President Asif Ali Zardari received the prime minister’s recommendation for the Air Chief Marshal’s renewal, which he approved.
Nevertheless, no formal remark regarding the development was made.
16th Chief of Staff ACM Zaheer Babar is a four-star air force officer. On March 19, 2021, ACM Mujahid Anwar Khan, his predecessor, gave him command of the air force.
ACM Sidhu made a call to the just elected prime minister last Monday. According to a news release from the PM Office, the ACM congratulated PM Sharif on taking office.
They also talked about the Pakistan Air Force’s professional issues.
