RAWALPINDI: As part of a government initiative, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) would fly 35,000 Haj pilgrims to the holy land in 2025.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and PIA have reached an agreement wherein the national flag carrier will serve 35,000 Haj pilgrims to the holy land in 2025 by operating special flights from six cities: Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta, Multan, and Sukkur.
Air Vice Marshal Aamir Hayat, the CEO of PIA, and Dr. Syed Ata-ur-Rehman, the supplementary religious affairs secretary, signed the agreement.
The CEO of PIA reiterated the organization’s dedication to offering the Haj pilgrims the greatest services possible.
The Haj Policy for 2025, which sets the pilgrimage cost between Rs1,075,000 and Rs1,175,000, was recently approved by the federal cabinet. The Rs. 55,000 sacrifice will be on top of the Haj costs. Pakistan’s 179,210 Haj quota for this year is split equally between the public and private sectors. For Haj, children under the age of twelve are not permitted to travel.
The airports in Karachi and Islamabad will offer the “Road to Makkah” service. The Ministry of Religious Affairs will sign service provider agreements with Haj group organizers, and these organizers will be rigorously watched for service delivery.
