CHRISTCHURCH: (Dunya News) – New Zealand was on Sunday hit by an earthquake of 7.4 magnitude, shocking the nation as well as Pakistan team that is currently on the tour to New Zealand for a cricket series, starting November 17, reported Dunya News.
According to American Geological Survey, the origin of the earthquake was 90 kilometers from Christchurch and 16 kilometers below the surface. People came out of their houses terrified by the powerful shocks.
Pakistan’s men and women teams also came out of their hotels. The teams are currently in New Zealand. Pakistan is going to play its first Test against the Kiwis on 17th of November.
Experts have also issued a tsunami warning and instructed the citizens to stay away from beach views.
Pakistan skipper Misbah ul-Haq s wife also tweeted how the team and family members were scared after the earthquake. She said that she was unable to sleep due to the aftershocks.
