After going silent for several weeks, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif slammed the courts in London, accusing prominent judges of showing partiality to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.
Ijazul Ahsan, Sheikh Azmat Saeed, and Saqib Nisar were once obsessed with putting Nawaz Sharif in jail, invalidating him, and overthrowing his government, Mr. Nawaz said, mentioning Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, former CJP Asif Saeed Khosa, and other names. There is now proof of what they did from within their organization, and they left no stone unturned in their pursuit of us. What stronger evidence is required, he said to a reporter outside the PML-N’s de facto London office at Stanhope House, which is where Shaukat Aziz Sididqui comes from.
In answer to a journalist’s inquiry about his thoughts on “the judiciary giving relief” to Mr. Khan in the Toshakhana case, Mr. Nawaz made the comments mentioned above. Mr. Nawaz has mainly remained silent on current political matters after returning from his more than one month-long journey to Europe, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia, though there is widespread suspicion that he may return.
CJP putting his career on the line for Imran, says PML-N supremo
He criticized Mr. Khan and the judicial system. “Today, the chief justice is attempting to shield a man who is charged with corruption in instances ranging from Toshakhana to Al Qadir Trust for the loss of billions.
“See the change… The current CJP is determined to preserve Imran Khan, just as the previous chief justice was motivated to force Nawaz Sharif against a wall. They are aware that he has undermined our national ideals, the economy, and our culture and traditions.
What more did the PTI do other protest and demonstrate, given the way they conducted themselves in opposition? Despite this, we accomplished a lot. He continued his assault against us even after gaining power. He traveled to America and promised to get Nawaz Sharif’s cell fans removed. He would threaten to hang me from a tree and drag me from the PM’s home during dharnas, he said. All of him and Tahirul Qadri have been quoted as stating this.
“For this man Imran Khan, the chief justice of Pakistan is putting his career on the line,” Mr. Nawaz concluded. It is sad that this is still taking place despite the fact that Khan was brought by Gen Faiz and Gen Bajwa and was destroyed.
Mr Nawaz earlier also lauded the army personnel and the local administration officials in Battagram for a “tremendous rescue effort in Battagram that the whole world was watching”.
