Martyrs day: Kashmiris vow to continue freedom struggle

Muzaffarabad: Kashmir Martyrs day was observed on both sides of the Line of Control on Monday with the renewed pledge to continue the mission of martyrs till the complete liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and accession of the whole state to Pakistan.
The day was observed to commemorate the martyrdom of those Kashmiris who laid down their lives in front of Srinagar Central Jail on this day in 1931 for the cause of freedom from Dogra Rule.
The day dawned with special prayers for the souls of martyrs, solidarity and prosperity of Pakistan and early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. It was a close holiday in Azad Jammu and Kashmir .
Functions, seminars and rallies were held throughout the state to pay homage to the martyrs of 1931.
In the state capital Muzaffarabad a function was held under the auspices of Kashmir liberation cell at central Press club. Speakers on this occasion paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of 1931 who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of their motherland from the Dogra imperialistic rule. They said their sacrifices will never be allowed to go in waste.
They strongly condemned the use of brute force by Indian authorities against innocent Kashmiris struggling for their internationally recognized right to self determination.
Speakers urged International community to take serious notice of Indian terrorism in Occupied Kashmir.
Speakers included Member Islamic ideological council Mufti Kifayat Hussain Naqvi, leader of Jammat e Islami AJK Qazi Shahid Hamid, Shoukat Ganaie of PMl(N) and media Advisor Shaoukat Javed Mir while expressing solidarity with the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, assured that they will never leave their brethren alone in their struggle. They paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Kashmir.
A resolution was also adopted on this occasion demanding international community to play its effective role in the resolution of longstanding Kashmir dispute. It urged International human rights organizations to take stock of state terrorism in occupied Kashmir.
The resolution also stressed upon India to respond positively to the since efforts of Pakistan for the resolution of Kashmir issue.

Later a Protest rally was also taken out from Press club which culminated at Gharipan Chowk in Muzaffarabad.
