LAHORE: A special court for gender-based violence has sentenced a man who sexually assaulted a young girl to life in prison and a 14-year jail sentence.
Based on the father of the minor’s accusation, Sanda police filed a formal report (FIR) against accused Imran in 2021.
The five-year-old kid was taken to a shrine by the accused, who is the complainant’s eldest daughter’s brother-in-law, where he sexually molested her.
Extra Sessions and Districts The special court’s presiding judge, Judge Kaneez Fatima Bhatti, sentenced the accused to harsh life in prison for rape under section 376(iii) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), along with a fine of Rs50,000.
In addition, the judge fined Rs. 1 million and sentenced the accused to 14 years in prison for a second sexual abuse violation (in the same case) under section 377-B of the PPC.
When the judge rendered the guilty decision, the accused—who was free on bond—was present in the courtroom. The judge placed him under arrest and gave the police the order to take him to the Kot Lakhpat jail.
