QUETTA: The Security forces claimed to have foiled a terror plot, seizing a large cache of weapons during a raid in Kohlu district’s Kahan Tehsil in the Baluchistan province under Operation Raddul Fassad, ARY News reported.
The seizure included machine guns, 42 bags of explosive material, 74 mortar shells, 14 mortars with fuses, six anti-tank fuses, eleven anti-tank mines, 1328 rounds of LMG and satellite phones.
The security forces have ramped up operations across the country in the aftermath of multiple blasts in Quetta and Parachinar leaving over 55 dead and more than 100 injured on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan.
Earlier, the personnel of the army and Peshawar police had killed three suspected terrorists in a gun battle that spanned over seven hours in Peshawar’s Chamkani neighbourhood on Friday night.
According to the ISPR, two soldiers and three policemen had received injuries during the exchange of fire.
Pakistan Rangers Punjab along with the counter terrorism department (CTD) of Punjab police and intelligence agencies had conducted joint search in outskirts of Faisalabad, Gojra and Jarranwala and arrested 12 suspect and recovered illegal weapons from their possession.
