In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and other Hurriyat leaders have condemned the killing of civilians by the Indian forces in the territory.
Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said that innocent youth including 13-year-old Waqas Ahmad and Sheeraz were massacred on even Eid day. He also condemned the destruction of wealth and property of citizens by the Indian forces in South and North Kashmir.
A delegation of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat visited the residences of Waqas and Sheeraz at Nawpora in Pulwama and Bragpora in Islamabad to express solidarity with the bereaved families.
Jammu and Kashmir People’s Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza along with party members Nisar Ahmad Rather, Fayaz Ahmad and Shabbir Nanwai visited the residence of Sheeraz Ahmad in Islamabad and expressed solidarity with his family.
Tehreek-e-Muzahamat Chairman Bilal Ahmed Sidiqui in a statement said that the use of brutal force on peaceful protests on the occasion of Eid reflected frustration of Indian forces and their moral and mental defeat against the consistent and courage struggle of the Kashmiri people. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the dozens of the youth injured by the troops on Eid day In Islamabad, Shopian, Srinagar and other places.
Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) Chairman Zafar Akbar Butt in his statement said that the Indian forces were free to kill as many people as they will because they were enjoying unbridled powers under black laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act. Hurriyat leaders Mohammad Yousuf Naqash and Javaid Ahmad Mir in a joint statement also condemned the killings.
The Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir in its statement said that the killing of civilians by the Indian troops had created panic and a sense of insecurity among masses across the territory. Democratic Political Movement in a statement said that the troops were killing innocent civilians at free will.
