ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of State John Kerry telephoned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Tuesday evening and conveyed him best wishes and regards from the US administration.
Secretary Kerry commended the state of relations between the two countries and said both countries had made remarkable progress in bilateral cooperation in all fields.
He appreciated PM’s counterterrorism policy and his strong resolve and determination to defeat terrorism.
During their warm and friendly exchanges on the regional situation, Secretary Kerry lauded Prime Minister Nawaz’s commitment towards establishing a peaceful neighbourhood in South Asia.
The prime minister said that Pakistan attaches high importance to enhancement of ties with the US. He expressed satisfaction over the state of bilateral ties between Pakistan and the US. He referred to the fact that there is a national consensus in Pakistan over counter terrorism.
