In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that the Kashmiri youth are laying their lives to end the age-old slavery of their people and for the right to self-determination.
Syed Ali Gilani telephonically addressing from Srinagar the mourners of a martyred youth, Aadil Ahmed Lone, at Pinjora in Tral area of Pulwama district paid rich tributes to him. Aadil Ahmed Lone was martyred by the troops in Tral area of the district on Tuesday. He reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to take the ongoing freedom movement to its logical conclusion at all costs. “We will never allow anybody to barter with the precious blood of martyrs. We are duty-bound to safeguard their sacrifices and should desist from such activities which can be detrimental for our movement,” he added.
The APHC Chairman said, India’s tactics cannot deter the Kashmiri people from pursuing their mission and even if it macadamizes our roads with gold or silver, still we won’t accept its supremacy. He said that during the past 70 years, the Kashmiris had rendered unparallel sacrifices and thousands of people were caged and brutally tortured, properties worth billions razed to ground and looted, and sexual assault and rape were used as war weapon.
Expressing serious concern over the atrocities of the Indian forces, Syed Ali Gilani said, “We are receiving reports that youth and particularly in some areas even young girls are being summoned by the forces’ personnel. It is extremely humiliating, unbearable and unacceptable.”
Urging the people to boycott the upcoming farcical elections, he said participation in these elections is tantamount to treason with the blood of martyrs. “Indian authorities are misleading world community by portraying people’s participation in elections as a verdict in their favour. It is prerequisite to convey a strong message to the world community that we pursue a cherished mission of freedom and in no way, justify, defend or favour these elections,” he added.
