SRINAGAR:
A youth was killed in firing by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district
Friday after a clash with protesters, police said.
A senior police officer said protests broke out in Naidkhai area of Bandipora district, 35 km from here, after Friday prayers.
“A stone-pelting mob attacked the security forces camp in Naidkhai area of Bandipora district after the Friday prayers.
“Two security force vehicles were torched by the mob after they attacked the security forces camp there this afternoon.
“Farhat Ahmad Dar, son of Gulam Rasool Dar, resident of Shahgund Naidkhai, received a bullet injury during the protests. He was taken to Pattan hospital for treatment, but he succumbed en route,” the officer said. Reports from the area said three other protestors have sustained injuries in the security force action.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shah Faisal has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the matter.
“I have ordered a magisterial probe into the incident and additional district magistrate will conduct the inquiry into the killing of one person”.
