LAHORE: Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Tuesday took oath as 45th Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC) at a simple but impressive ceremony held here at Governor’s House.
Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana administered the oath. Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Speaker Punjab Assembly judges of Lahore High Court, provincial ministers, Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council, presidents and office bearers of Lahore High Court Bar Association and Lahore Bar Association, provincial & federal law officers and a host of legal luminaries attended the ceremony. The participants also congratulated the newly appointed Chief Justice.
Later, on arrival at Lahore High Court after the oath taking ceremony, as per tradition guard of honour was presented to the new chief justice by a smartly dressed police contingent. LHC Judges and court officials welcomed and congratulated the new chief justice.
