GAZA: According to the Palestinian territory’s civil defense service, the Israeli army increased its shelling of the northern part of Gaza and blocked roads to impede the delivery of relief on Wednesday.
Palestinian medics said that at least eighteen people had died in nighttime military strikes on Gaza, while Israeli soldiers continued their raid on the Jabalia refugee camp located in the northern part of the enclave.
The Palestinian Civil Emergency Service stated that it is unable to access the unsubstantiated allegations it has received regarding the possible deaths of several Palestinians in Jabalia and other northern Gaza locations due to Israeli shelling.
The chief of the UN Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, posted on X on Wednesday, saying that “at least 400,000 people are trapped in the area.” The army issued further calls for evacuation on Tuesday after claiming to have surrounded Jabalia in northern Gaza over the weekend.
People are being forced to leave again due to recent evacuation orders issued by the Israeli authorities, particularly from Jabalia Camp. Since they are all too aware that nowhere in Gaza is safe, many are declining.
Lazzarini claimed that hunger was returning to northern Gaza due to the near complete lack of basic supplies and that certain UNRWA shelters and services were being forced to close for the first time since the conflict started.
murders in the West Bank
Along with the Palestinian health authority and Israeli security forces, Israeli police acknowledged that at least four Palestinians had been killed in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.
A statement released on Wednesday by the Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that “four martyrs who were shot by the occupation in Nablus have been transferred to Rafidia Government Hospital.” The men’s ages were later reported to range between 31 and 43.
“The four martyrs are ordinary citizens who were among the people and were killed among the people in cold blood,” stated Ghassan Daghlas, the governor of Nablus. “A cowardly and deliberate assassination,” he described the murder as.
He clarified that three of the men were from the Askar camp in the West Bank, which Israel has controlled since 1967, and that one man was from the Balata camp. At least six kids were flown to Hisham Abu Aoun’s hospital in Gaza City, according to the head of the Friends of the Patient Hospital’s urgent care unit.
Jabalia resident Amal Nasr reported that during their escape, she and her husband Rami suffered gunshot wounds. Their daughter Dana was also hurt. “My husband was shot in his leg and my daughter Dana was shot in her neck by the occupation forces,” the woman added, adding that her daughter had been transported to a hospital in Gaza City and was currently in stable condition.
“As we were leaving our house, I got hurt.” After getting shot in the neck, Dana Nasr began to bleed, she stated from the Al Ahli Hospital. She said, “There were a lot of injuries on the streets of Jabalia.”
The hospitals in Gaza are having trouble keeping up with supplies. The health ministry issued a request for assistance from outside on Tuesday, announcing that hospital closures may result from fuel shortages.
“Intensified military operations” in northern Gaza, according to UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, compelled the organization to suspend activities. Among them were the seven UNRWA schools that the displaced Gazans had been using as shelters. On Wednesday, the Israeli army declared that operations were still continuing on “throughout Gaza.”
