Rajouri: Another Kashmiri vehicle allegedly carrying bovine animals were torched by miscreants after a gap of ten days in Kalakote area of Rajouri district on Thursday. Last month on 21 November miscreants had set ablaze a truck in Nagrota Jammu.
Reports said that a Kashmiri vehicle (JK04C-1309) was stopped by mob and after spotting bovine animals in it, set it on fire. “The six persons in the truck were roughed up and handed over to police,” witnesses said.
Confirming the incident, a police official from Kalakote Police Station that six bovine smugglers were arrested. “The truck was on way to Kashmir from Jammu after it was intercepted by irritated people who set it on fire. Soon after the incident, the people protested against the bovine smuggling. We have also seized four bovine animals and a case (FIR number 63/2015) has been registered against the smugglers,” he said.
Ironically Police did not arrest anyone from the mob responsible for setting the truck on fire.
Pertinently, miscreants set ablaze a truck near the Ban Toll Plaza in Nagrota area on November 21 that was allegedly carrying bovine animals. (CNS)
