LAHORE: The Punjab government is introducing programmes to improve the standard of living of less-privileged segments of society, and with the provision of loans under the chief minister’s interest-free loan scheme, thousands of deserving people have started their own small businesses.
These views were expressed by Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha while speaking at the first session of International Islamic Economic, Banking & Finance Conference held at a local hotel on Tuesday. Al-Tijara Centre of Islamic Economics organised the conference.
The minister said that about 100,000 youngsters were moving towards practical life after completing their education.
She said as government was unable to provide jobs to all of them, it was promoting youngsters towards micro-businesses.
