In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one Kashmiri youth in Islamabad district, late last night.
The troops killed the youth identified as Bilal Ahmed Butt during a cordon and search operation at Ranipora in Achabal area of the district. Earlier, an Indian policeman was injured when unidentified persons attacked a police picket in the area.
Unidentified gunmen shot dead an activist of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Hakim-ur-Rehman Sultani, outside his home at Reshipora in Bomai area of Sopore. Hakim-ur-Rehman Sultani was recently released from illegal detention.
The APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that India is hatching one conspiracy after another to crush the Kashmiris’ ongoing peaceful freedom movement. He said this while talking to a delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement from Jammu that called on him in Srinagar and discussed latest situation of occupied Kashmir. The delegation was led by the JKPM Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem.
The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement in Srinagar, today, urged India to reciprocate Pakistan’s offer to settle all outstanding issues including the Kashmir dispute through talks.
Meanwhile, the occupation authorities booked six youth from Shopian district under draconian law, Public Safety Act, and lodged them at Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu. Indian police arrested Hurriyat leader, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, in Islamabad town. The police arrested four youth during a demonstration outside Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, yesterday. The police have adopted a new strategy of arresting the youth during the demonstrations by planting its men among the protesters. In the footage of the demonstration outside Jamia Masjid, which has gone viral on social media, the policemen in civvies were seen mingled with the crowd and detaining the youth in disguise.
An Indian soldier was arrested by local police in Sopore for molesting, sexually harassing and blackmailing a local woman for the last two years.
An Indian soldier committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle while on sentry duty an army camp in Samba district. This incident raised the number of such deaths amongst the Indian troops and police personnel to 406 in occupied Kashmir since January 2007 till date.
In New Delhi, a special court of India’s notorious National Investigation Agency extended the judicial custody of Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, and her two associates, Nahida Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi, till 1st October, 2018. They are presently lodged at New Delhi’s infamous Tihar jail.
