President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan Monday said that India’s tactics to solve the Kashmir issue through state terrorism would never succeed.
“India has been using brutal force against the innocent Kashmiris for the last 70 years to suppress the voice of Kashmiris. But despite all sort of atrocities it has failed to create any sort of fear in them,”he said while speaking at the concluding ceremony of National Book Festival here at Pak-China Friendship Centre.
He said India was sacred of the brave Kashmiris, who despite scarifying so many lives had not budged from their just demand for freedom. India utilized all means, he said to crush the freedom movement in Kashmir but it had miserably failed to achieve its designs. He thanked Prime Minister of Pakistan and people of Pakistan for showing solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
The AJK President lauded Prime Minister’s Advisor on National History and Literary Heritage (NH&LH), Irfan Siddiqui for holding a successful national book festival in Islamabad.
He said the book festival had added charm to the beauty of Islamabad and its reflection could be seen everywhere in the Capital.
Masood Khan said that during the festival besides displaying of books, literary programmes and discussions were held to highlight importance of reading, which he added had introduced a new culture.
He said that he himself had observed that people of all age groups thronged the stalls to buy books adding that all this had falsified the impression that book reading habit was declining in the country.
He underlined the need to raise the standards of books in Pakistan so that these could capture world’s attention.
He said that raising the standard of communication was a challenge for Pakistan as India had been quite successful to present its fake narrative in the West. We can compete with India and others more effectively it will lift the standard of our communication, he added.
