ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria on Thursday has warned India against making any strategic miscalculation against Pakistan.
Responding to questions at the weekly news briefing in Islamabad, Nafees Zakaria said it appears that India is seeking a conflict with Pakistan.
He categorically stated that Pakistan has no desire to escalate tensions but the armed forces would respond effectively to any unprovoked violation from Indian side.
He asserted that Pakistan has always exercised restraint but India’s belligerance is a threat to regional peace and security. He said India is deliberately escalating tension in order to divert international community’s attention from gross human rights violation in Occupied Kashmir.
Zakaria reiterated that India is involved in deteriorating Pak-Afghan relations whereas it is also using Afghanistan’s soil against Pakistan.
Expressing apprehensions over the Indian violations on Line of Control and working boundary, he pronounced that India is playing havocs with the peace and stability of the region.
He stressed that Pakistan strongly condemns the atrocities perpetrated by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir and insisted that the international community and United Nations take notice as at least nine civilians including three students have been killed by the Indian army in a week.
Zakaria urged that Indian barbarism cannot suppress the Kashmiri people’s just struggle for right to self-determination.
The spokesperson said Pakistan has serious concerns over the tension between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
