MOHMAND: On Monday, in the Mulakhel Qandhari neighborhood of Safi tehsil, a room’s roof fell, killing a woman and injuring six people, including children.
The injured were moved to the District Headquarters Hospital in Ghalanai, according to a Rescue 1122 representative. Afterwards, two of them were sent to a Peshawar hospital due to their unstable conditions.
The deceased has been identified as Ghulam Syed’s wife, according to the rescue officer.
The women and kids, according to the residents, were guests at the residence since they had traveled from a nearby village to take part in an engagement ceremony.
In the meantime, truck drivers in Ghalanai blocked the main Peshawar-Bajaur route in protest at the traffic police’s steep fines.
They insisted that Usama Amin Cheema, the district police officer, be made aware of the problem.
The truckers further complained that their trucks were harmed by the worsening state of the route, despite the fact that the mining department received millions of rupees in tax revenue from them. They said that traffic accidents had grown commonplace.
