PESHAWAR: The groom was admitted to the hospital in serious condition, and the newlywed wife passed away after it is said that she ate some deadly food in the Sarband region on the outskirts of Peshawar.
The pair was married on Sunday and is said to be from Afghanistan, according to the police.
According to reports, the bride and groom were found unconscious when family members smashed down the door to their chamber on Monday morning after many knocks went unanswered.
The bride was pronounced dead when they arrived at Hayatabad Teaching Hospital, and the groom was admitted in critical condition, according to the police.
The police stated that their investigation was ongoing and that after speaking with the groom—who is battling for his life—any information regarding the ingestion of toxic food would be discovered.
