Sita Gopi, 14, and Lalay Gopi, 6, were admitted for treatment, according to the police.
According to Central SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi, the driver has been charged with manslaughter by the police. The SSP stated, “The FIR has been registered and police are working on the case,” and he threatened to arrest the driver and any other passengers in the vehicle.
According to the Pakistan Penal Code, the police have invoked sections 320 (rash or negligent driving that results in qatl-i-khata), 337-G (rash or negligent driving that causes injury), and 279 (negligent driving that puts human life in danger).
According to Area SHO Qamar Kiani, the police had tried in vain to apprehend the culprit through three separate raids.
