ISLAMABAD: Two houses and a business in the capital were looted in separate incidents on Thursday, while criminals posing as officials robbed an expat, according to police.
After arriving at Islamabad International Airport from Saudi Arabia, Shakoor Abbasi and his family were on their way to Abbottabad, his hometown, when two individuals in a car with radios intercepted them at the Bhara Kahu bypass on Murree Road. The two individuals identified themselves as police officers.
According to the police, the suspects stole 3,000 Saudi riyals from Shakoor while they were searching him.
In a another instance, four armed individuals broke into Munib Shahid’s home at D-12/1 and stole mobile phones, decorations, food, and other household items worth Rs 18,000, $150, and $135.
From Abdul Wali’s home in Tarnol, robbers also stole a firearm, five cell phones, gold jewelry, and Rs 600,000.
In Hamdani Town, four robbers stole Rs 10,000 from a milk store.
