Senior Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, along with a party delegation has left for New Delhi from Srinagar to meet the Pakistan Prime Minister’s Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz.
The Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi had invited the Hurriyat leaders to meet Sartaj Aziz during a reception party being hosted by the High Commission in the honour of Sartaj Aziz.
Meanwhile, the veteran Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Geelani, continues to remain under house arrest in Srinagar. The authorities have strengthened the deployment around his residence.
Indian police have also detained other Kashmiri leaders including Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Syed Bashir Andrabi and Mir Hafeezullah.
