LEICESTER: A huge Fire broke out in two buildings after an explosion rocked Hinckley Road area of Leicester city in the United Kingdom early on Monday.
As per British media reports, police initially have said that no indication that Leicester ´explosion´ linked to terror that injured at least four people and destroyed two buildings, confirming that they were responding to a major incident after witnesses reporting hearing a huge explosion in the Hinckley Road area of the city centre.
Soon after the incident police and emergency services rushed to the scene and launched a search and rescue operation in the area.
Police have closed Carlisle Street and part of Hinckley Road and are asking people to avoid the area. Businesses and homes in the immediate vicinity were evacuated and those impacted were taken to a local police station as a temporary measure.
While UK police have reportedly denied any immediate indication of terrorism following the explosion that destroyed a convenience store and a home in the central English city of Leicester.
