KARACHI: Former education minister for Sindh Dr Hamida Khuhro passed away due to her illness, Sunday morning.
She has to her credit two books, and also wrote on the making of modern Sindh. The author was also involved in politics – she joined Pakistan Muslim league in 1993.
However, involvement in politics did not take her away from academia as she also served as the head of history department at University of Sindh.
About Dr. Hamida Khuro
Dra. Hamida Khuhro was a politician, writer, professor and historian from Pakistan. She had twice served as Sindh’s Minister for Education. She passed away, on the 12th of February, 2017 in Karachi, Pakistan
Khuhro is the daughter of Muhammad Ayub Khuhro, a former Chief Minister of Sindh. She has a PhD in South Asian History from the University of London and also attended the Universities of Karachi, Cambridge and Oxford. She is a Muslim and is married
