ISLAMABAD – The government has decided to maintain sales tax on petrol, light diesel and kerosne at 20%, 12% and 5% respectively.
Reportedly, sales tax on high speed diesel has been increased by 1% to 36.5% and sales tax on high octane reduced by 1.5% to 20%.
Making the announcement in Islamabad on Friday, Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar said the Prime Minister has decided to maintain prices of all five POL products at the existing level during next month.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had recommended to increase petrol price by 10 paisas per liter, high octane by Rs3.55, kerosene oil by Rs2.71 and light diesel by Rs1.81 per liter.
