ISLAMABAD: Chairman Privatization Commission Muhammad Zubair Friday said the government has earned Rs.170 billion during last 15 months through privatization.
Talking to a news channel he said, the government was ensuring transparency in the whole process of privatization. The process goes through four phases including, Evaluation, Transition Committees, Board and Cabinet committee on privatization.
“Although privatization is a tough and complicated process but the government is working hard to get it done,” he said, adding that privatization of various entities was announced in previous regimes but could not be materialized due to many reasons.
He said the government had received international appreciation for privatizing institutions in a transparent manner.
The Chairman informed that the Sindh government has shown interest to take control of Pakistan Steel Mills and the government was ready to hand over, if the provincial government was sincere in the matter.
