Alphabet Inc.’s Google is planning to introduce an ad-blocking feature in the mobile and desktop versions of its Chrome browser. Most probably, this feature will be turned on by default for all users. However, Google has not announced any information regarding this feature.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Google is working to launch its own ad-blocking feature. As mentioned above, it would be enabled by default within the mobile and desktop versions of its Chrome web browser. Moreover, this feature could be announced officially within weeks. But this is not confirmed yet.
Although Google’s revenue is dependent on online advertisements, this move seems like a counter initiative. By the launch of this feature, the search giant wants to two things out of this. One is to provide better user experiences and the second is to put an end to the growth of third-party ad-blocking add-ons. Third-party apps and add-ons have seen significant growth over the last few years.
Google and other major tech giants earn a huge share of revenue from electronic advertisements. These companies target their relevant audiences through marketing advertisements put on the websites. To run their day-to-day tasks, these companies need funds. So these companies strongly discourage the usage of third-party ad-blockers.
Currently, Google declined to comment on the matter. So we can’t say anything about the launch of this feature. Moreover, the reason of launching this feature is still unclear. May be Google wants to help its users to improve their experience by not using third party ad-blockers. Let’s see whether Google has to launch this feature or not.
