ISLAMABAD – Minister of State for Information technology Anusha Rehman on Friday said that a vibrant market of 200 million plus with a major youth component, offer huge opportunity for Google to have local presence in Pakistan.
According to a handout Rehman while meeting a delegation of Google Asia Pacific headed by Rajan Anandan VP, highlighted the initiatives being taken by MoIT and said that they provide unambiguous support for localisation of various Google services in Pakistan.
Google representative appreciated all the developments and particularly efforts for proliferation of broadband, promotion of innovation as well as the e-governance programme. Rajan said that under present environment Google can do business in Pakistan through multifarious projects.
He added that the proposition of a well grounded engagement to increase Google’s presence in Pakistan is more viable than ever.
