RAWALPINDI: Germany’s Army Chief and Defence Minister showed keen interest in learning from Pakistan Army’s experience of fighting war on terror during their meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif in Berlin on Monday.
Pakistan’s Army Chief is on a two-day official visit to the German capital.
According to tweets by DG Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa, the COAS was given guard of honour on his arrival at the historic German Ministry of Defence.
During his separate meetings with German Army Chief and Def Minister, bilateral military to military relations, enhanced defence and security cooperation and training exchanges came under discussion.
Acknowledging Pakistan Army accomplishments in war on terror, German military leaders showed interest in learning from Pakistan’s military experience, said the DG ISPR.
German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen specially appreciated Gen Raheel’s consistency and will in fighting terrorism.
The Army Chief will visit Czech Republic after his visit to Germany concludes, according to ISPR.
