KARACHI: The Sindh Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Thursday to have arrested four terrorists allegedly affiliated with Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in Karachi.
The arrested suspects were identified as Abdul Jabbar, Khalid, Mohsin and Shafiq.
Addressing a press conference, Senior Superintendent of Police CTD Naveed Khawaja said the arrested terrorists were operating a network from India, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai.
“All the arrested persons are Pakistanis but they were working for RAW and trying to disrupt the peace of the city,” SSP Khawaja claimed.
“The arrested suspects will be registered for hatching conspiracy against Pakistan and its sovereignty,” he said.
According to him, the suspected terrorists have also given information on bank accounts of traders and builders who received funds from RAW. “We have provided the State Bank with this information in order for them to carry out the legal action against the culprits,” the SSP said.
Khawaja also shared that the suspected terrorists have disclosed information regarding cached explosives and weapons which would be recovered after further interrogation.
One of the accused has also agreed to become a prime witness for the cases, according to the SSP.
