QUETTA: The coalition of four nationalist parties has made the decision to press forward with its protests against the purported tampering of the results of the general elections on February 8.
The coalition leaders, including Mehmood Khan Achakzai of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Sardar Akhtar Mengal of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch of the National Party, Abdul Khaliq Hazara of the Hazara Democratic Party, and leaders of other parties, met on Monday to make the decision.
Following extensive debate and deliberation, the gathering agreed to go on with the protests because the results of the elections have been “rejected” by the people of the entire nation.
The administrative coordination committee of the alliance has been ordered to call an urgent meeting and schedule next protests.
Leaders assert that institutions “throttled” voters’ ambitions.
During the meeting, it was also decided to keep up the strike camp outside the Quetta district returning officer (DRO) office.
Workers were told to keep up and even intensify their protests until the people impeding the nation’s democratic transition of power were held responsible for their unlawful acts.
The elections on February 8th were described as “the most fake, fraudulent, and manipulated” polls in history at the meeting.
Millions of Pakistani voters had their opinions “mocked” by the procedure, which has been called a laughingstock globally.
The leaders stated that, as guaranteed by the ECP and all pertinent institutions, polls will produce impartial and transparent results at a time when the nation is experiencing severe challenges as a result of the “continuous disrespect of the Constitution and will of people.”
After the elections, it was expected that a parliament that really represented the people would be established.
The meeting underlined that given Pakistan’s internal and foreign circumstances, it was predicted that recently elected legislators would work nonstop to advance Pakistan’s interests and rescue the nation from problems.
Leaders of the alliance reported that a fervent and enthusiastic crowd turned up on February 8 to elect their MPs. Regretfully, the institutions suppressed the people’s ambitions since they were obligated by the Constitution and their vow to stay out of politics.
This was carried out in a way that has left the entire nation in the dark.
Every patriotic Pakistani has been left “astonished and dismayed” by the true servants of Pakistan who have “set up a marketplace in the provincial and national assemblies,” defying the will of the people.
The leaders asserted that in addition to the citizens of Pakistan, other democratic nations and organizations are also denouncing the rigging.
