Karachi: Youth Impact – a not-for-profit youth development organization known for its wilderness based training sessions – has announced the first ever youth leadership conference in Pakistan to be held on a mountain top!
The four-day conference titled ‘Markhor 2013’will be held from October 3 to 6, 2013 at Mukshpuri Peak, Nathiagali.
The pioneering youth leadership conference in wilderness aims to bring high potential youth of Pakistan together and inculcate a spirit of social leadership amongst them, informed Abdul Samad, CEO, Youth Impact, who is a certified Outdoor Educator from the world’s leading National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), USA.
Detailing the conference theme, Samad said that Markhor being the national animal of Pakistan was a symbol of pride and nobility. He stressed that the youth in Pakistan, challenged by an unending wave of change, uncertainty and extreme competition needs to be prepared for the challenges waiting ahead for them. The professional world needs to have youngsters who are agile, high in energy, self-motivated, highly adaptable, who dare to confront the challenges like a Markhor, he added.
He said, the conference will have youth representation from different segments of the society as well as from different regions. The young participants will be provided with the opportunities to test their leadership abilities through wilderness challenges, community interactions and nature association. Dignities from various segments of society including corporate leaders, political and social leaders and celebrities shall be speaking during the conference.
He also urged the public, social, and corporate sector organizations in Pakistan to become part of this event by sponsoring talented, non-affording youth to participate in it.
