PESHAWAR: On Thursday, the recently elected administration of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa made the decision to completely reinstate free healthcare for all province residents under the Sehat Card Plus insurance program, which was implemented on Ramazan 1.
An official statement said that the decision was decided at a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur here.
Attending the meeting were State Life Insurance Corporation representatives, principal secretary to the chief minister Amjad Ali Khan, health secretary Mahmood Aslam, additional chief secretary Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, and chief secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary.
The chief minister’s directive to reinstate the health insurance program led to the province government releasing Rs. 5 billion to the SLIC, the participants were told.
Officials claim State Life received Rs 5 billion, and other debts will be paid off over time.
According to the statement, the conference also decided in principle to disburse Rs5 billion per month to pay the arrears to the SLIC.
According to Mr. Gandapur, the welfare of the populace was his government’s first priority, and the Sehat Card Plus was a vital public initiative that would be carried out regardless of the cost.
Priority funding would be given, according to him, for the payment of arrears to the SLIC. “There won’t be any compromise on this, as it pertains to public health,” he declared.
The chief minister promised to implement the required changes to guarantee transparency in the Sehat Card Plus program.
In addition, the chief minister presided over a meeting on the regulation of daily commodity prices and gave the go-ahead for authorities to provide the greatest amount of aid to the populace throughout Ramadan.
Participants were given an overview of the suggested price control method by officials, who also instructed the district administrations to promptly implement it in order to help the populace.
They claimed that control rooms had been set up for the purpose at the district level.
at addition to setting up monitoring desks at markets, the officials announced that mobile teams would be assigned to every region to make sure that consumers are given edibles at prices set by the province government.
Mr. Gandapur gave the go-ahead for officials to make every effort to give Ramazan residents the greatest amount of price reduction.
He gave district administrations instructions to keep a close eye on the markets and take decisive action against profiteers.
According to the chief minister, all of the province’s bazaars will be transformed into sasta bazaars rather than the government establishing unique sasta bazaars in Ramazan.
He gave DCs instructions to make sure pricing lists were shown on panaflex rather than paper.
“To ensure direct coordination with people, all deputy commissioners should effectively use social media platforms. They should also emphasize action against profiteers on social media,” he stated.
In order to gather concerns from the public and resolve them, Mr. Gandapur also instructed DCs to make their WhatsApp contacts public.
