QUETTA: Under the Anti-Terrorism Act, the government of Balochistan has placed the names of a sizable number of individuals on the Fourth Schedule.
Many people have confirmed to Dawn that their names have been added to the Fourth Schedule and they have been requested to report to CTD and police, even though the home department has not sent out any notifications. According to sources, district intelligence committee suggestions were followed when taking this move.
When a name appears in the ATA’s Fourth Schedule, it indicates that the individual has been prohibited. Such individuals are subject to limitations such as embargoes on passports, bank account freezes, prohibitions on credit and financial support, embargoes on arms licenses, and limitations on job clearance.
Those added to the list include Secretary General Samand Baloch, Information Secretary Shakoor Baloch, and Chief of the Baloch Student Organization Balaach Qadir Baloch.
The list also contained the name of Bohir Saleh Baloch, the chairman of a different BSO faction connected to the National Party (NP).
“We have not yet submitted a report to the CTD, despite being requested to do so,” stated Balaach Baloch.
The author of multiple books, Abid Mir, has also been placed on the Fourth Schedule.
The list also includes social activist Akram Dost, who often attends demonstrations demanding the return of missing people.
Despite requesting anonymity, a home department official said that the Fourth Schedule now contains the names of several dozen people. He stated that the final names of about 300 individuals had been decided upon for the list. “There are up to 130 Quetta residents who have been listed on the Fourth Schedule,” he stated.
3,000 persons, according to NP President Dr. Malik Baloch, would be included to the Fourth Schedule.
“I have a lot of friends that are nationalists. He questioned, “Why is the government pushing these innocent people towards BLA?,” threatening that the outcome of this action would not be advantageous to the nation.
Leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee Dr. Mahrang Balochi further revealed that several followers of the BYC were placed on the Fourth Schedule.
