WASHINGTON: Social networking site, Twitter, said on Friday that it reserves the right to ban the account of US President-Elect Donald Trump, in the case of any violation of terms of service.
The social networking site has said that if the President-elect breaks its rules with his tweets then they will exercise their right to shut down his account.
Twitter added that if Trump explicitly makes threats or violate any other site`s rules, then it will ban him from using the service.
“The Twitter Rules prohibit violent threats, harassment, hateful conduct, and multiple account abuse, and we will take action on accounts violating those policies,” a Twitter spokesperson said. The company said that those rules apply to all accounts without exception, including for those that are verified.
Meanwhile, in the recent past, Twitter has banned members of the alt-right. Milo Yiannopoulos was permanently kicked from the site after a campaign of abuse against Ghostbusters actor Leslie Jones.
