SHARJAH: Islamabad United put up a disciplined bowling display as Karachi Kings failed to post a big total again, managing just 128 runs in the first innings of the 16th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Sunday.
Left-arm spinner Imran Khalid and seasoned all-rounder Azhar Mahmood shared three wickets among themselves and bowled economically to the Kings’ line-up which has struggled with the bat throughout the league.
The Kings have won just two of their six PSL matches, both victories coming against a struggling Lahore Qalandars side and will be desperate for another win as they bring back left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir, who was absent in their previous two matches.
Islamabad, on the other hand, will be without the services of Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, who flew back to Australia on Saturday after suffering abdominal strain.
Former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood replaces the Aussie for United.
