ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday dared Indian military to tell its casualties, saying that Pakistan Army killed 11 Indian troops in return for its seven martyrs.
During an informal conversation with media in Islamabad, he said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now understood Pakistan’s stance that aggression across Line of Control (LoC) was useless.
General Raheel further said that the army has given excellent results in the defence of the country.
He said that a total of 45 Indian soldiers have been killed at LoC.
Army chief said that India’s surgical strike claim was limited only to mere words, adding that India had to face embarrassment over its own claims.
He also termed today’s military exercise a success.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and General Raheel Sharif witnessed the ongoing military exercise Raad ul Burq in Khairpur Tamiwali near the border with India.
The exercise was aimed at checking the operational preparedness of the military. Tanks, planes, artillery and other heavy weapons are on display during Wednesday’s exercise.
COAS, after the military exercise, said that sacrifices of soldiers would not go in vain.
He added that preparation of armed forces would not let anyone cast an evil eye on Pakistan.
“We want to provide secure and better future to the next generation,” COAS was quoted as saying.
