ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Friday visited headquarters of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) where he lauded the contributions of the country’s premier intelligence agency towards national defence and security, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
Upon his arrival at the headquarters, the COAS was received by DG ISI, Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar, the ISPR said in a statement.
The army chief was given a detailed briefing on internal and external security situation of the country and the ISI’s role towards strengthening of national security, including its efforts in countering terrorism.
Expressing his complete satisfaction, Gen Bajwa lauded the contributions and sacrifices of officers and men of country’s premier intelligence agency towards strengthening of national defence and security, the ISPR stated.
The COAS also laid floral wreath at Yadgar e Shuhada to pay homage to the martyrs of the ISI.
