Two members of the security forces and eight militants were killed in clashes in Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Agency
Militant Commander Hazrat Noor and his two family members were killed while two security personnel embraced martyrdom during a raid of security forces on his house near Chilas Valley Semigal Thursday morning, SHO Darail said.
“The security personnel, on a tip-off, launched a raid on Noor’s house in Diamer’s Darail Valley.
Noor and two other family members were killed.
Two security forces men also embraced martyred during the raid,” he added.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) sources said at least three terrorists were killed and two security persons were martyred in the gunbattle.
According to ISPR, the killed terrorists in Darail were involved in attacks on security forces in Chilas, passenger buses on Karakorum Highway and massacre of foreign tourists at Nanga Parbat base camp.
ISPR said the targeted raid in Darail was part of National Action Plan.
Army and Gilgit-Baltistan police jointly launched a search operation in the area and closed all routes of the valley.
Two days ago, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif had confirmed death sentence to an offender involved in killing foreign tourists at Nanga Parbat base camp.
Separately, Repulsing an attack on a security checkpost, the Pakistan Army yesterday killed five terrorists in Darmudrab Pass, the bordering area of Tirah Valley in Khyber Agency.
The security sources, in a statement issued to media, said the militants equipped with sophisticated weapons launched an offence at the soldiers’ posts.
The troops repulsed the attack and responded aggressively.
Human losses were inflicted on the attackers and five militants were killed in the armed battle.
The forces took into custody bodies of the militants that were later handed over to the political administration.
The identification of the killed terrorists and their relation to any militant outfit could not be ascertained.
The bodies of five persons killed in fighting with forces in Tirah Valley were shifted to Jamrud Hospital.
Later, the terrorists were identified as Saeed son of Hayat Khan, Wali Khel and Sabir son of Jahanzeb Sherkhan Khel, Koki Khel and residents of Jamrud, Khyber Agency.
