At least six people were hurt when clashes erupted between youth and government forces in north Kashmir’s Sopore town which continues to remain tense since the killing of a youth in forces firing on Monday.
Witnesses said since early morning, authorities imposed curbs in the Apple Town, some 55 kilometers from summer capital, and restricted civilian movement. They said hundreds of police and paramilitary forces were deployed in the rown.
However, witnesses said, despite curbs and forces deployment, dozens of youth took to streets and shouted pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. The youth also clashed with forces during which six persons sustained injuries.
