PESHAWAR: Chinese investors have expressed their interest in business prospects related to trade, steel structure, infrastructure, industrial park and establishment of training institutes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A 35-member Chinese delegation of leading companies visited Peshawar on Saturday to have first-hand investment prospects information regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in the province.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company hosted a meeting of the Chinese delegation, led by Dr Ishak Ding Houfei, the chairman of the Council on Islamic Chinese Relations.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the projects on which Chinese companies and the company could jointly work on.
The Chinese investors were interested in initiation of fast train projects in the province, environment-friendly industrial parks, developing industrial hubs and establishing industrial units of automobile, home appliances and furniture.
Some of the other projects that came under discussion were aluminium manufacturing plants and optimisation of the existing agricultural products in the province.
Addressing the Chinese delegation, KP-EZDMC CEO Mohsin Syed said the CPEC was a wonderful opportunity for both the countries to maximise the trade activities.
