Two days after Karachi mayor Waseem Akhter demanded a targeted development campaign for the city, Sindh government and a Chinese company have signed an agreement for garbage disposal in the metropolitan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the agreement for the much-needed system took place between Chinese company Wuzung and the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board.
The agreement will entail garbage collection by the company in South and East districts of the city. The Chinese company will collect garbage from citizen’s houses, free of charge.
While trashcans and large-sized garbage containers will be installed in localities of the two districts, government is also planning to sign a similar agreement for other districts of Karachi.
