Paris, (PR) : Chairman of Jammu & Kashmir Forum France, Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar, who is also a Member of the Central Executive Committee of PML-N and former Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir for Europe, has strongly condemned the intensified crackdown by the Indian occupying forces in Jammu & Kashmir. He denounced the dismissal of three Kashmiri Muslim employees, the seizure of a Kashmiri citizen’s property, and the confiscation of over 600 Islamic books from bookstores. In his statement, Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar expressed outrage over the ban on books written by prominent Islamic scholars, including Abul A’la Maududi, Ameen Ahsan Islahi, and the late Syed Ali Geelani, a key figure in Kashmir’s freedom movement. He condemned the dismissal of Kashmiri Muslim employees, calling it a dictatorial move, and labeled the crackdown on Islamic literature as absurd and oppressive. He further described the seizure of books as an act of blatant state repression.
He asserted that the people of Kashmir have nurtured their freedom movement with their blood, and India must recognize the undeniable reality. “The Kashmir conflict is not just a territorial or border dispute; it is a struggle for the political future and self-determination of the Kashmiri people,” he emphasized.Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar criticized the United Nations and international organizations for their failure to implement their own resolutions on Kashmir, stating that their inaction is a clear testament to their inefficacy. He insisted that Kashmiris are not begging for favors or making illegitimate demands; rather, they are demanding the right to self-determination, a promise made to them by India and the UN itself.Highlighting the resilience of the Kashmiri struggle, he assured the people that there is no place for despair. “As long as even a single Kashmiri youth carries the burning desire for freedom in their heart, the Kashmir freedom movement will continue,” he declared.Addressing the Indian government, Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar urged them to stop misleading their own people and acknowledge the truth—that Kashmiris are fighting for their fundamental and inalienable right to freedom.
