ISLAMABAD According to police, on Wednesday, several cases under several sections of different statutes, including the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), were filed against the former cleric of Lal Masjid and his spouse.
Both cases were filed with the Aabpara police station; Constable Javaid Anjum’s allegation prompted the filing of the first case against Maulana Abdul Aziz.
Following Maulana Aziz’s criticism of the military forces during his speech at Lal Masjid, a complaint was filed.
The FIR states that the cleric criticized the army and government for their actions based on his own invented religious beliefs, which he then disseminated on social media to raise awareness of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan terrorist organization, which is outlawed, and to try to legitimize terrorism.
The FIR stated that he attempted to incite mutiny within the army and demoralize it, and that his goal was to instill fear and terror among the public and law enforcement while dividing the populace from religious factions and the armed forces. On the basis of a complaint filed by ASI Abdul Qayyum, a case was also filed against the wife of Maulana Aziz.
The wife of Maulana Aziz, Umme Hassan, was seen on social media threatening the police and the government, according to the ASI’s statement in the FIR.
She declared that, despite authorization from the capital government, she would not permit any musical or cultural event to take place in Islamabad due to her religious beliefs.
The First Information Report (FIR) stated that she had publicly declared that she possessed weapons, including a Kalashnikov, and that she had interfered needlessly, disrupted such programs in the past with the assistance of her colleagues, and would do so again.
