LONDON: On Wednesday, Prince Harry’s legal case against the UK government on its decision to reduce his personal security when he travels there was unsuccessful.
Following his announcement in February 2020 that he would no longer get the “same degree” of publicly sponsored protection while in Britain, the youngest son of King Charles III filed a lawsuit against the government.
In a 52-page ruling, Judge Peter Lane stated, “The ‘bespoke’ process devised for the claimant in the decision of Feb. 28, 2020 was, and is, legally sound.”
In 2020, Harry and his spouse Meghan made headlines when they abruptly left Britain and relocated to California. In December, he testified at a court hearing in London that security issues were impeding travel back to the UK.
“I live in the United Kingdom. In a written declaration that his attorneys read aloud in court, he stated, “The UK is central to the heritage of my children.” “If it’s not feasible to keep them safe, that cannot occur. “I am not willing to unnecessarily put myself in danger too, and I cannot put my spouse in danger like that,” he continued.
