ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced a unique initiative that offers top taxpayers and exporters facilities and advantages through a generous reward package.
On Thursday, SRO469 was used to notify people about the Pakistan Honor Card Scheme. The advantages include diplomatic passport issuance, quicker clearance at immigration offices, and entry to airport VIP lounges.
65 best exporters and compliant taxpayers—including businesses, associations of persons (AOPs), and individual taxpayers who won prizes from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif—will receive the cards.
The program is broken down into multiple categories, one of which recognizes top taxpayers for their exceptional achievement across a range of industries. Based on the amount of money they export from the nation, nine of the best exporters will be shortlisted for the cards.
Depending on how well the sector performs, there will be another category. The top exporters by sector will be selected from among chemical products, food items, leather, machinery, pharmaceuticals, sports goods, and other top exporters of paper and plastic, steel and metal products, among other things. There will be two exporters from each of these categories after that.
The cards will also be made available to exporters who produce novel and non-traditional goods. The card will also be extended to the leading exporter of goods and aluminum, after which comes fish, crabs, and spices. Three of the best exporters in the information technology sector will be chosen as part of the program.
The top five individual taxpayers were joined by two exporters who had the biggest increase from the previous year, three top exporters who shipped goods for the first time, the top three exporters who were women, the top 12 taxpayers overall, the top taxpayer in income tax, the top five highest tax-paying companies, and the highest AOP.
Taxpayers must fulfill specific requirements in order to be eligible for the Pakistan Honour Card. These requirements include paying all taxes due on final taxation statements or returns, having no unpaid claims or arrears (unless they are being contested in court), and having no active criminal cases.
