QUETTA: On Tuesday, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, the Inspector General (IG) of Police for Balochistan, and Atizaz Goraya, the Director of the Counter-Terrorism Department, visited the location in Noshki where nine Punjabi citizens were shot dead by unidentified armed men after they were abducted from a passenger coach heading towards Taftan the previous week.
Senior police officers were briefed by Wazir Khan Nasar, the DIG for Rakhshan Range, on the terrible incident and the advancements made in the police-conducted CTD probe.
According to officials, “all aspects of the incident were under investigation to trace the armed men involved in the killing of the nine men who were coming from Quetta and on their way to Iran.”
The provincial government has chosen to update its security plan in order to protect people on all of the province’s highways, according to the IG Sheikh, who spoke at the event.
“In this regard, any negligence or irresponsibility will not be tolerated,” Mr. Sheikh declared.
He went on to say that the agency will fulfill its obligation to ensure public safety, stressing that this was the police’s first priority.
In order to safeguard the public, he also emphasized the importance of the police officers stationed at the entrance and departure of all roads being incredibly watchful and aware.
IG Sheikh declared, “Terrorists, miscreants, and robbers would be uprooted to maintain peace in Balochistan.”
