Pakistan’s ODI captain Azhar Ali climbed to a career-best ranking of 12th place on Tuesday in the MRF Tyres ICC Test Player Rankings.
The batsman received 62 points, moving him ahead of teammate Asad Shafiq but one spot behind Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
He jumped five places up the rankings after winning player of the match with his 302-not out in Pakistan’s 56-run victory in the Dubai day-night Test.
Azhar became the fourth Pakistani batsman to score a Test triple century, after Hanif Mohammad, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Younis Khan.
Younis Khan at fifth place, is Pakistan’s top-ranked player in the ICC Test Player Rankings.
